As it turns out, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding certain classic Legend of Zelda titles eventually making their way over to the Nintendo Switch, and the console’s successor could be the perfect opportunity for those titles to show themselves. It has been rumored for some time now that Zelda The Wind Waker and Zelda Twilight Princess would eventually be remastered and ported to the Switch, although neither rumor has received official confirmation from Nintendo. Even so, if the Nintendo Switch’s successor launches in 2025 following its announcement, it could bring these two beloved titles in tow.
Not all the Legend of Zelda news for 2025 is unconfirmed, however, as the new year will officially open the door for something new from the franchise. While it, unfortunately, isn’t a new game, it might appeal to some fans, especially those who dabble in collecting. Good Smile Company, known for its popular figma figures, will be releasing new Tears of the Kingdom Link and Zelda figmas in 2025. Pre-orders have been live for the figmas for some time now, so fans looking to get their hands on one may wish to pre-order it sooner rather than later.
The only other Legend of Zelda news currently on the docket revolves around the live-action Zelda film, which has only been in development for a year now but could still receive an update in 2025. According to a recent Nintendo financial report concerning the company’s future, the live-action Legend of Zelda film is expected to be released sometime between 2025 and 2029. That being said, 2025 feels unlikely, given how little has been revealed about the film thus far. Even so, fans might be able to expect at least some news about the movie in 2025, whether it be its casting or premise. If they’re lucky, they might even get a teaser trailer.
