The Resident Evil 2 remake was released in 2019 and earned widespread critical acclaim at the time of its launch. Often pointed to as one of the best Resident Evil games and one of the best horror games in general, the Resident Evil 2 remake is easily one of the best games currently available to PS Plus Extra subscribers. Losing the Resident Evil 2 remake is definitely a blow to the service, especially for horror fans, but perhaps it will be replaced by some other noteworthy horror game next month.
We won’t know what new PS Plus Extra and Premium games are coming to PS Plus in January 2025 for a couple of weeks, but it will definitely be interesting to see what’s on the way. One has to wonder what the monthly free PS Plus Essential games will be as well. Chances are those won’t be announced on the last Wednesday of the month like usual, and instead, fans should expect the next free PS Plus Essential games to be revealed on Wednesday, January 1.
