Recent price listings from GameStop have suggested that Nintendo’s line of Amiibo figures will soon be receiving a price increase, joining other similar price hikes from the Japanese developer. Nintendo’s pricing has been a hot-button issue for many gamers following the highly-anticipated reveal of the Switch 2. The developer confirmed that its next console will see a steep price point, starting at $450 USD for the console alone and seeing games increase to a base price of $69.99. Now, Amiibo figures are reportedly seeing a price hike as well.
The rising price of video games has been an especially big concern for many fans in recent weeks. For fans in the United States, the introduction of a bevy of new tariffs from President Trump has brought plenty of questions about how the gaming industry would be affected by the new charges. Many feared the tariffs would substantially increase the price of the Switch 2, though Nintendo would later stand pat with only Switch 2 accessories seeing a price bump. A new report, however, now reveals that Amiibos will have a higher price point moving forward. As reported by ComicBook, recent GameStop listings for some of the newest Amiibo figures are seeing their prices going up. The listings will see the new trio of Street Fighter 6 Amiibos increasing from their previous price point of $29.99 to $39.99, with new figures on the way for Kimberly, Luke, and Jamie. Some of Nintendo’s own franchises won’t escape the price hike either, with Lengend of Zelda Amiibos for Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, and Tulin increasing from $19.99 to $29.99. All of the new Amiibos are set to arrive alongside the Switch 2’s launch on June 5.

The new line of Amiibos are set to be a popular pick not only for fans picking up Nintendo’s newest console, but for their older platform as well. The upcoming wave of Amiibos for Street Fighter 6 and The Legend of Zelda will function on both the Switch and Switch 2, offering some special in-game perks. Nintendo has yet to reveal specific details about what the new Amiibos will do in-game, but games like Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s Amiibo support provide everything from new costumes to unique items.
New Amiibos are just one part of an exciting lineup set to arrive alongside Nintendo’s next home console. The developer has already extensively shown off Mario Kart World as its biggest launch title for the console, bringing the beloved racing franchise into an open-world setting with plenty of new characters and gameplay changes. Several future first-party games have been shown off as well, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. Nintendo will hope to offset concerns about the Switch 2’s price point with a stacked lineup of highly-anticipated new titles.
